Corporate Holiday Party Ideas: Pair a Team Challenge With Live Entertainment

Holiday party season is almost here, and most company parties follow the same script: a room, a buffet, a playlist and a lot of people standing near the drinks. The parties people actually remember have two things: something to do together, and something worth watching.

Part one: do something together

Start the celebration with an escape room round. At Mind Busting Escape Rooms, the whole group plays at once across several private rooms, up to 10 players per room (6 in Cartel). We host groups of 11 to 80.

Each team gets 60 minutes and a mission:

  • Trophy Heist: sneak into a stadium’s locker-room level and steal the championship trophy before kickoff.
  • Isolation: escape a remote Alaska research facility before the gas is released.
  • Narco: our most beginner-friendly room, perfect for coworkers who have never played.

Nobody needs experience. Game masters brief every team and watch every game, and beginners get extra guidance.

Part two: make it an event

Then move the group to your party venue and let the entertainment carry the evening. Blue Sky Atlanta Music & Entertainment has booked live entertainment for Atlanta events since 1992: bands, DJs, magicians, jazz and string ensembles, and full casino parties. They handle the talent so the organizer doesn’t have to.

A casino night after an escape room round works especially well. The same teams that just escaped together can keep competing at the tables.

Planning tips

  • Book early, especially for December weekends, for both rooms and entertainment.
  • Mix the teams. Put people from different departments in the same room. It’s the point of the exercise.
  • Crown a winner. Announce the fastest escape time at the party.
