If your group’s idea of a great night involves puzzles, strategy and a little trash talk, you can build an entire evening around it without leaving metro Atlanta.
Round one: solve your way out
Start at Mind Busting Escape Rooms in Tucker. Every game is private, so your group plays alone. Each room is a 60-minute story you solve from the inside:
- CIA Black Site: one teammate starts restrained in a covert detention facility, and the rest of the team has to free them and get out. High-tech and logic-heavy, and one of our three hardest rooms.
- Mafia Boss: find the rat in the family before the Boss’s men close in. Also one of our hardest.
- Detective Slayer: break into a troubled detective’s home and find out what he’s hiding. Easier, and great for newer players.
If your group likes a challenge, start with the harder rooms. You get up to 3 clues per game, and if you don’t make it out, your game master walks you through everything you missed.
Round two: keep playing
Then take the game night somewhere built for it. Battle & Brew calls itself the first video game restaurant in the U.S., and it has been hosting Atlanta’s gamers since 2005. It pairs PC and console gaming with board games, craft beer, cocktails and a full kitchen. There are two locations, in Sandy Springs and at The Battery Atlanta, plus regular events like trivia, cosplay nights and a monthly D&D brunch.
Escape room first means you show up at Battle & Brew with a story, a winner and at least one argument about who solved the last lock.
Good to know
- Rooms hold 2 to 10 players (Cartel holds up to 6). Bigger groups can play several rooms at once and compare times.
- We’re open every day from 11 AM, with late start times until 11:30 PM (11:45 PM Saturday).
- Battle & Brew is 21+ after 11 PM, so plan the order of the night if anyone in your group is under 21.
